Well, summer is officially over, which is hard to believe. I really enjoyed my first all organic Colorado garden in my new(ish) home, and I have plans to make it even better next year. Here are some things I’ve learned this summer. I need to:

  • Plant wayyy less in my raised beds

  • Automate watering

  • Put up a puppy gate to keep Teddi from eating my tomatoes and stomping all over my flowers

  • Heavily fertilize my tomatoes when they’re first planted and then let up as they start to fruit

  • Put my kale/lettuce in the bed with the least amount of sun

  • Invest in hail protection

  • Remember to buy a box of ladybugs to release in my beds

I’ve also made an effort to collect my seeds (some which I hope to gift to clients in these cute little seed packets I bought), so I can start early next year with my grow lights in my garage. What tips do you have for gardening that I haven’t addressed? I’ll take all the info I can get!
