Rocky Mountain Family Adventure | Sunshine Lady Photography
One of the really nice things about being a photographer in Fort Collins, Colorado, is that I literally live less than an hour from one of the most celebrated and coveted national parks, Rocky Mountain National Park. To be honest, I was shocked when we visited for the first time from our home. We saw elk, bears, mountain goats, you name it! Could this kind of wildlife live so close to my suburban home?
Luckily for us, my mom sprung for an annual national parks pass for my Dustin’s birthday, so now we can visit whenever we want, free of charge! With COVID requirements starting to mellow a bit, we decided to take a Friday off and visit our neighborhood park. :) I count myself an ocean gal (I am a water sign, after all), but I realize we are pretty lucky to live so close to such spectacular beauty!
Also, it’s worth noting, these images were taken mid day. While I love them, this is NOT THE LIGHT you want for your sessions. Golden hour is just that- mid day light is harsh, castes shadows, and is not entirely flattering on skin. And that is why I always schedule your sessions about an hour and a half before sunset.
P.S. I’ve fallen so in love with photographing clients in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park that I’m offering Rocky Mountain Adventures this summer. You can check them out here.
