Baby Luke is Here! | Fort Collins Newborn Photography | Sunshine Lady Photography
One of my favorite things about my bump + babe package is that I get to know families pre and post baby. Witnessing my clients’ transition from waiting to becoming parents is really amazing. If you’ve seen the main page of my website, you’re probably quite familiar with my header image of the glowing Jamie, whose pregnancy I captured late spring in the Poudre River in Bellevue, Colorado. Not too long afterwards, I was invited into their IMPECCABLY styled home to capture their family of three (plus pup)! I asked Jamie if she’d be willing to share some insight on motherhood with my new or soon-to-be moms, and here’s what she had to say!
Who are you, what do you do, and where are you from?
Jamie, I’m a dental hygienist, and I’m originally from central Florida but have been a Coloradoan for 15 years.
Who was included in our newborn shoot?
My husband, Ben, and our dog Boba.
What did you enjoy most about our photo session?
It was very laid back and comfortable since we were just at home in our own space.
Please define motherhood in your own words.
Motherhood is the least glamorous, most raw and vulnerable, wonderful and magical thing that’s ever happened to me.
What advice can you give to our new or soon-to-be mommy readers?
Do what works for you and your babe. Try your best (I know it’s so hard!) not to put pressures on yourself about what you think you’re “supposed” to do. You will make plans and almost every single one will not go the way you imagined, but each journey into motherhood is so different so enjoy the ride and be flexible!
Isn’t their house lovely? My absolute favorite thing about my job is forming relationships with my clients, and getting invited into their home, right after having their babies, is such an honor and a privilege. I can’t wait for all the covid babies that’ll be popping up this coming 2021.
I will be limiting the number of clients I take on in 2021 (so I’m not running around like a maniac with her head cut off all the time), so sign up for my newsletter to make sure you can grab your spot before their available to the public!
