A Lily Lake Maternity Session
Sophia contacted me about her maternity session during her second trimester (I always recommend planning these sooner than later so you can make sure I have a spot open for you during your 31-34 weeks window), and noted that she liked things laid back, near water if possible, and would love to time our session around peak fall color. She warned that her husband, Dustin (also my husband’s name) has a tendency to climb on things during photos (which you will see absolutely happened in our shoot). After mulling it over, I suggested Lily Lake in Estes, and Sophia was into it!
We met on a beautiful day with almost no one around. Dustin and Sophia came prepared with a variety of dresses that Sophia bought from Baltic Born (and has since donated to my client closet!). We talked beer (Dustin works for one of Fort Collins’s best breweries) and Sophia’s experience as a preschool teacher (talk about having the right background to prepare someone for parenthood). Our hour plus flew by and I am just in love with both the shots we captured and the clients I got to know! I’d love to read your thoughts on these in the comments below!
When are you due and what are you having?
I’m due 12/5/20 and having a little girl, Olivia Joy.
What’s the most surprising thing about your pregnancy?
Feeling her move! I am in awe of the female body and what it can do throughout this entire pregnancy! Amazing!
What’s one thing on your baby registry that you must have and why?
I’m most excited for our Bob stroller because it reminds me that our life and adventures will only get better when she can come with!
What are you craving?
Chocolate milk! Alllllll the chocolate milk :)
What did you wear for our maternity session?
I wore three gorgeous off the shoulder dresses from Baltic Born! (Side note: Sophia has graciously donated these dresses to my client closet for other maternity clients to use in the future)
What was your maternity session with me like?
It was the most amazing time! I loved how comfortable and at ease you made me feel and how well you and Dustin got along. It was such an easy and fun session!
What’s your one piece of advice for women who are currently or trying to become pregnant?
Our little Olivia Joy came as a surprise when we stopped trying and putting pressure on ourselves so my advice is to trust the timing of your life and your body!
Interested in scheduling a maternity session with me? I’d love to hear from you!
