How to Create Botanical Double Exposures in Photoshop

 
 

Let’s just start with me admitting that I am NOT a Photoshop expert. Hell, I wouldn’t even call myself a Lightroom expert (although I can get around just fine using Lightroom for 95% of my editing). But, there are a few fun things I love to do in Photoshop, one of which is my double exposures. I’m very nature inspired, and so when I do these, I often like to combine profile portraits with landscape or botanical shots I’ve taken. If you don’t have your own landscape or botanical shots, you can always grab something off the web or from the free stock image site Unsplash.

Below, I go through how I create my botanical double exposures in Photoshop. Sometimes they come out AMAZING and sometimes they…well, suck. But the most important thing I hope you get out of this video is to practice and see how you can combine images in new and interesting ways. Who knows, you might even just develop a whole new style before you know it!
