One Last Summer Camping Trip

Seems like just yesterday it was summer. Fall is fully on, and while we love the changes in the leaves, we wish we could keep spending all our time outdoors. I bought a teardrop camper last spring in the hopes that we would be able to do just this. For our last camping trip of the year, we headed to Gunnison National Forest and had a BLAST. We had never ventured this far west in the state because, hello, lockdown, and were actually quite surprised to find such a beautiful (and expen$ive as hell because of course I looked up real estate prices) place to spend a few days together as a family.

Two of the highlights of our trip included finding the most EPIC location at our CAMPSITE for photo sessions (seriously, should a bunch of clients and I all book spots for the same weekend and I just photograph the hell out of everyone?) and discovering Crested Butte for the first time. I had a boyfriend long ago who raved about this town and I never realized how right he was about it.

Now that camping season is coming to a close and I’ve learned to book future spots as soon as they open in the winter, what recommendations do you have?

Fun Stuff

What I’m reading: The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines. I’m inspired by how they created the life they wanted, with their family, and against all the odds.

What I’m listening to: My Bonny Doon Spotify playlist mix.

What I’m watching: Catching up on The Handmaid’s Tale, and I love it.
