Welcoming Baby Lillian
A few months ago, I met Katelyn and Dalton to take some beautiful maternity photos under the spring flowers beside the Poudre River in Fort Collins, Colorado. Fast forward a few months, and baby Lillian has arrived! I met them at their newly renovated home and met their sweet little lady. We hung out in their GORGEOUS nursery that Katelyn, a nurse, designed herself. It was honestly the perfect gender neutral setting and I appreciated the boho and planty approach. I’m always in awe with people who can curate a whole look from beginning to end. I like to consider myself an 80%er- aka someone who finishes projects 80% before getting distracted and working on something else.
Katelyn and Dalton moved to Colorado from Florida and said they found their forever home here in the Rocky Mountain foothills. They’ve spent months preparing for this baby and moved into their new home the same weekend as Lillian’s due date! Talk about being a trooper. I’m pretty sure all I wanted to do on my due date was lie on the couch and binge watch Downton Abbey.
Katelyn had an assortment of super cute onesies and swaddles, and we also took some pics in the Madeline’s Box merchandise I brought along with me. I shared a few pictures of Lillian’s nursery on Instagram, and people went bonkers over it. The nursery is the perfect little place for their bundle of joy to grow up into a little girl.
I asked Katelyn about her experience delivering Lillian and she assured me she had an easy delivery and the best of care here in Fort Collins. Like most new moms, she is figuring it out as she goes, but her nursing background lent itself to her calm and collected demeanor when feeding and handling Lillian.
At the end of our shoot, we made sure we got a whole family shot with the couple’s Labrador retrievers. It took some coaching and rapid fire shutter speed on my camera to capture the dogs while they were still, but we made it work! Congratulations to Katelyn and Dalton on their beautiful addition to their family. Can’t wait for our next session this fall to complete our First Year package.
