The Cooper Family | Colorado Family Photography
Let me stop for a second to tell you that I am seriously the luckiest photographer in the world. My clients are always so amazing to work with. That's true of my session with the Cooper family, too!
I met up with them in March, right before the stay-at-home order went into effect at Devil’s Backbone, not far from Rocky Mountain National Park, and the weather was perfect for photo-taking: sunny, warm, and free of rattle snakes. While the weather was fine, it was the Cooper family that made this shoot such a blast.
The Cooper family and also recently moved to Colorado from California. Spencer works with cattle, while Jennifer cares for and homeschools Felicity and Callahan while also selling essential oils, which she was so kind to gift me at our session (I wear my lava bead bracelet with the relaxation oil you blended every night, Jennifer!).
Another thing Jennifer obviously does well is coordinate outfits for a family photo shoot! When I asked her about her choices and she shared,
My dress was from Roolee boutique, bought a couple years ago. The kids’ clothes were from H&M, and Spencer’s shirt was from Boot Barn. I love neutral earth tones and a little bit of pattern and texture mixed in.
What are some words of wisdom you have for other families preparing for a family session?
Your children’s’ attitudes likely won’t show up through a photo, so even if they are grumpy, still show up. Don’t worry about your outfit, hair, makeup being perfect. The photo should reflect the real you.

As you can see from the comments above and the photos below, this family is not only photogenic, but also a close-knit group who clearly love spending time together. The Coopers are lucky to have each other.
This past winter, I scouted a number of beautiful spots in Larimer and Boulder Counties, and I can’t wait to create some more beautiful photographs there.
How to Book Your Own Family Session
After surveying my clients, I have implemented a clickable calendar which you can use to book your week day mini session in one simple step! The sun is setting late, so it’s easy to capture some gorgeous photos on a week night. Of course, there’s always openings for full session on the weekend (although I'm booking up pretty quickly), so you can inquire about full session by clicking here.
